HUGE PRAYER MEETING IN SOUTH AFRICA

In what is thought to be South Africa's largest-ever multiracial prayer meeting, as many as 1.7 million people met recently in Bloemfontein. New Life reports that South Africans ‘of all genders, races and denominations concerned about the malice, hatred, violence, murder and corruption in the country’ were invited to come together to pray. Organiser Angus Buchan said, ‘We are tired of people taking the law into their own hands. We are going to call upon the Lord to bring justice‚ peace and hope to our beloved South Africa.’

CHRISTIANITY GROWING IN INDONESIA

Christianity is growing in Indonesia, according to a Baptist pastor from Jakarta. ‘The number of Christians is growing,’ he told The Christian Post. ‘A lot of Muslims see the extremism in the name of Islam and realize there has to be a better way.’


RAPID GROWTH OF EVANGELICAL CHURCHES IN BRAZIL

According to Charisma News, evangelical churches are expanding rapidly in Brazil. The churches are gaining members partially by providing social services like education, security and economic development. ‘The government doesn’t help us, so God is the only option for the poor,’ said Pastor Marcio Antonio.
